Vista: A distant view or prospect,

At this point, for MS its still distant prospect (2007?), for me, its starting to feel the same.

You see my companies ‘other half’ - the folks over in NZ are a big bunch of Microsofties and we are the Unix geeks, but today they sent over the golden prize - a collection of MS Select disks, including Vista Beta 1 (or 2 or something…)

So I’m installing it now on the ’spare’ laptop at home, a PIII Sony Vaio with 256MB Ram

Yes, I laugh in the face of your system requirements! Bah!

But i’m getting what I deserve, its been installing for over 1.5 hours now and I’m still only 20 percent complete.

Will it finish?  Can it last?  Is it actually still working???

Only time will tell, perhaps it will finish by morning….  I’m going to bed!
