DYPM is now 3.0
Well, it finally lurched out the door…
2 Major bug fixes
- There was a problem with counting comments, if you had comment moderation off, wordpress incremented the comment count even if the comment was rejected. This is now fixed
- It would break trackbacks, this now works.
Finally, I’ve seperated the code from the languages because it was getting annoying going back and making edits to update language specific files to the new version of the code. This should make my language updates more frequent now.
Anyway, its in the usual place: http://www.herod.net/dypm/
Thanks for your patience!
P.S. Thanks to Carles Pina i Estany for the inspiration for the count fix and Steffen Rusitschka for the trackback fix

Hi,
i’ve tested it on my site (the last and the version from today) and a lot of users reported that their answers were right, but the pluging recognized the answers as wrong.
Any hints?

I’ve dropped you an email, but I’ll answer here as well for the benefit of the public
Have your users allowed session cookies? The verification relies on the use of session cookies. I’m running the german (de) version on the blog now and it seems to work just fine.

where did you get V3 as the download page still refers to V2 ?
Steven Says:
Hit refresh/reload in your browser, its probably cached.

Well, I didn’t do it!
I know i did upload a version for about 2 minutes last night that claimed it was version 4.0, but that was a typo.
There is a small possiblity you might use a ISP with multiple proxy servers and one had an old copy.
I know when I moved hosting providers once I had this neat thing happen were every second image I downloaded from my site was broken - It seemed two different proxy servers were dealing with my requests and one had the new hosting provider’s ip and the other had the old hosting providers ip. Very strange.

Great stuff Steven! Nice one getting the trackback issue fixed!
However, you could go for valid ’strict’ by removing the ‘language=”JavaScript”‘ attribute from the [script] element!
Cheers!

You may find this interesting as it shows that DYPM is possibly defeated (in the future): http://cinnamonthoughts.org/2006/09/19/comment-spammers-fight-math-questions/
