In Guus we trust.
Its a mere week until the FIFA World Cup in Germany and for the first time in 32 years Australia’s national side ‘The Socceroos‘ has qualified!
One might put it down to luck, or to Guus Hiddink, the super coach we hired from overseas to whip us into shape.
He took South Korea all the way to 4th place at the last world cup (although they were the home side), but we live in hope.
SBS, the tv channel in Australia showing the world cup has taken to advertising on buses, showing happy Australian soccer fans wearing t-shirts with ‘In Guss we trust’ written on it.
Well, I wish them luck (but sadly, I still think we’ll be out in the first round!)
