So, it appears, for about 3 months a small horde of somethings have been trying to log on via SSH to my virtual host.
They've all failed (I forbid password logons and use key based authentication) but still - its filled my disk up with failed login attempts.
So in the end I moved SSH to another, more obscure port. Hopefully that'll keep them from bothering me again.
So, I've been reading the huffington post for the past while and using it as my window into the U.S. Elections.
I realize it's about as balanced as Fox news, albeit from the other side of the fence.
But just lately I've added it to my rss feed so I'm getting a lot more content and this reading it a lot more
And boy is it getting on my wick.
50% of the content is 'sky is falling', 'what Obama is ...
Putting aside the tragedy of this poor woman How is this for a job:
In his opening address Mark Tedeschi, QC, told the jury that female police cadets weighing close to Ms Byrne's 57 kilograms had been thrown into swimming pools by male police colleagues of various strengths so that scientists could determine what type of throw could have resulted in Ms Byrne's body landing head first almost 12 metres out from the cliff base.

Our youngest dog, Paris passed away today unexpectedly.
Hi Peewee. Hope you are wagging somewhere nice now.
So I was waiting for someone to bring a wordpress app to the iPhone so that mobile blogging could become real for me.
I was planning on doing something myself but two things were holding me back:
My total lack of knowledge about coding for the iPhone.
My total lack of commitment to actually coding something like that
Anyway, have a good evening, I have docs to write.
I was playing around with my Google account whilst configuring Google Reader for my new iPhone (more on that later).
In the long list of Google services I seem to have collected was one named 'Web History'. I was stunned to discover this option is a history of all the web searches I had done over several months!
I felt a little odd looking through my old search history - its not like there is anything 'wrong' in there - but I ...
Well, its the end of season 2 of Sea Patrol.
What a total load of utter drivel. Never has so much money been spent on such a weakly scripted, poorly acted pile of tripe. It has pretensions for something greater, it has extensive support from the Australian Navy, it has, on paper, a good cast - and yet its like watching Home and Away with Navy uniforms.
No, actually, its worse. Home and Away is actually better - and I ...
My god.
What a shambles.
It seems relatively compatible with MS Office for Windows (excluding the omission of VBA) but the user interface looks like the freakish offspring of Office 2007 and Pages.
It wants to be Office 2007 - actually, it looks like somebody made them make it look like Office 2007 about 3/4 through the project and they tried something with no idea of how to do it in OS X (Or maybe, something that just isn't possible).
Then there is the ...
