Telstra and land line ‘erosion’

Readers with exceptional memories, or at least, nothing else going on in their lives may remember my rant about Telstra a few weeks/months ago.

Basically, after a bad experience with a Bigpond support person, I finally decided to leave Telstra and radically reorganise ourphone/internet.

So, instead of paying Telstra around $400 a month for mobiles, home phones [...]

IE 7 is stable…. (so far)

I take it all back.

I found some reference on Google to Microsoft Release Notes which commented that Google had fixed the Google Desktop problem that caused IE 7 to crash when opening a new tab.

So, I upgraded Google Desktop and now (cross fingers) IE 7 seems stable, certainly a couple of sites where it constantly [...]

I will be so grumpy….

Its 74 minutes into the Croatia v Australia and Croatia is up 2 - 1.

Its beyond frustrating, given we have been all over them for much of the game.

But I’m starting to wonder, do the Socceroos need luck to win?  Shot after shot after shot goes wide, is hit softly etc etc.

That and the constant [...]

The next great IT project failure awaits…

IBM has just won a 495 million dollar project to ‘do stuff’ to integrate everything.

Other members of the tender include Siebel, Tibco and Microsoft.

So, with all that money, and all those major vendors - this project should wind up in the paper a year or so from now when it is over budget, over schedule [...]
