Well, my access logs for yesterday have alot of odd entries for wordpress comments, somewhere in the vicinity of 30-40 posts.
None of them seem to have gotten past the DYPM so no issues, but I don’t feel comfortable with that many ‘diseased monkeys’ hammering at my door.
So, its time to do some experiments!
I’ve relocated my wp-comments-post.php file and updated my theme to point to the new location.
It will be interesting to see if the spammers find the new file, if they do, that would imply they parse the post looking for the url to post to.
If they don’t then it would mean they simply just how WP works and are just taking a stab in the dark. If thats the case, then there are a wealth of possibilities to make their lives hell….
